[WHAT’S HAPPENING] Tanu Falls Short, But Others March On
But not every match went India’s way. Tanu, who tried hard in the 54kg quarterfinal, could not beat Thailand’s Natnicha Chongprongklang.
Even though she started strong, the local favorite was too good in the later rounds, beating the Indian boxer and ending her hopes for a medal. The Indian team kept going strong in the U19 category, with Shivam and Mausam Suhag showing very different results.
Shivam easily won against Turkmenistan’s Bezirgen Annayev with a score of 5:0 in the 55kg division.
Mausam had to fight hard, but in the end, he won against Kazakhstan’s Nurkabyluly Mukhit in a close match, 3:2, in the 65kg class. Their wins have kept India’s hopes strong in both age groups.
