Naman Mathur, a.k.a. Mortal, has once again made India proud by becoming the first Indian gamer to be nominated for ‘Streamer of the Decade’ at the prestigious Esports Awards 2025. As reported by Sportskeeda, the Esports Awards is set to take place in Riyadh on August 10 2025, celebrating ten years of e-gaming.
This is not the first time that Mortal is shortlisted for the award; previously, Mortal had the honor of six straight nominations at the Esports Awards. Mortal is the first streamer of India to win Esports Content Creator of the Year. Standing alongside global legends like Ninja, Shroud, Pokimane, and Tarik, Mortal proves he is not just a national icon but a global e-gaming star.
[What’s Happening] Mortal Puts India on the Global Gaming Map
With Mortal’s nomination for ‘Streamer of the Decade’, all eyes are on him once again. But was his journey as easy as it looks today?
Mortal first doubted himself when he began e-gaming streaming in 2016. But look at him now, he is making India proud, winning a series of recognition and awards.
A passionate gamer, Mortal started posting videos of himself playing Mini Militia on his YouTube channel. No, he did not become a star overnight, it took him two years straight to come into the limelight.
He credits PUBG Mobile for his early success; because of the game, he was loved so much by his YouTube viewers. In 2019, he won PUBG Mobile India Series playing for team Soul, followed by PUBG Mobile Club Open – Spring Split: India.

Not only in India, but Mortal and his team began competing at an international level. They finished 12th in PUBG Mobile Club Open – Spring Split Global Finals, held in Berlin, Germany.

[Journey] Mortal’s Rise: From Mobile Gaming Star to Esports Icon and Industry Voice
Mortal won Mobile Player of the Year in 2019. This title helped him to be listed as one of India’s most prominent gaming personalities. Unfortunately, PUBG Mobile was banned in India; however, he continued his esports streaming career with BGMI. Playing for Team Soul, he won the Battlegrounds Mobile India Pro Series, playing for Team Soul.
Hard work truly pays off, thanks to mortal consistent dedication to esports, which helped him earn global recognition. Esports Awards has nominated Mortal ‘Content Creator of the Year’ for three consecutive years: 2022, 2023, and 2024.
Additionally, Mortal was nominated for the Esports Personality of the Year award at the Esports Awards, not only once but twice – in 2022 and 2023.
Not only being limited to streaming, Mortal dropped the big news, surprising his fans with his partnership with MG Motor India in 2023 to design the Gamer Edition of their car, Comet EV.
Further, he has taken the initiative to talk about the future of the Indian gaming industry with the respected Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
