The World Number 1 ranked Italian tennis player, Jannik Sinner, is set to return to Davis Cup representing Italy this year after serving a three-month doping ban.
The 23-year-old was last seen winning the Australian Open, successfully defending his title by 6-3, 7-6(4), 6-3 in the final, and was banned in February after a deal with the World Anti-Doping Agency.

Sinner’s Return: A New Chapter Begins
According to Italy’s Davis Cup captain, Filippo Volandri, the world number one, Jannik Sinner, may take some time to find his rhythm after being three months away from the game, but he will be playing in top form ahead of the French Open.
Sinner’s ban from the major tournament will be ending in the next month on May 4 and might be seen at the Rome Masters initially, which will begin three days later.
The three-time Grand Slam champion recently posted an Instagram story posing with Jack Draper during a training session. He wrote, “Back on court, thanks @Jack Draper.”
The fact that Jannik Sinner has been dominating tennis at the highest level for the past few months cannot be denied, as he has won several titles and seems to be very difficult to beat.
Similarly, his training partner, Draper, recently stood out as the winner of the BNP Paribas Open 2025 after defeating Holger Rune by 6-2, 6-2.

On Sinner’s return, Volandri expressed his feelings to Italy’s La Gazzetta dello Sport: “His physical preparation is focused on Roland Garros. It’s a grueling event with long, best-of-five-set matches.
I’m convinced the preparation he’s had over the past three months will be beneficial in the long run. He has not been able to complete a proper winter pre-season in recent years, and this break allows him to recharge for the next two to three seasons.”
Despite being out of the matches for so long, his preparation during that period will signify his determination and dedication to the sport.
As he moves forward to the tournament, he is about to be a danger to all his fellow tennis players with the skills and mindset he brings to the tennis court.
Sinner’s Last Appearance
Jannik Sinner was last seen on the tennis court during the Australian Open tournament, where he clinched victory against the talented Alexander Zverev in a straight three-set match.
Sinner’s dominant performance throughout the tournament was in the headlines of every newspaper and article as he also became the second youngest man ever to defend the Australian Open title.
Not only did he win the finals by the barest of margins, but his run for defending the title throughout the tournament had been incredible.
