Jia De Guzman Joins Alas Pilipinas
As the new season of the competition comes up, Jia De Guzman has been gearing up. The national volleyball team has been inserted into the practice camp for the AVC Women’s Volleyball Nations Cup.
Not only the AVC cup but the team will be heading even for the South Asian V League and the 33rd Southeast Asian Games in Thailand. Being the captain of the side, Jia will have to lead by example.
Jia De Guzman’s Views After Joining The Training Camp
As Jia De Guzman joins Alas Pilipinas, she talked to the media and shared her views. There has been pressure to perform, and winning a bronze medal isn’t enough for the fans.
She further added that they need some more time and practice to be at their best. Guzman is also hopeful that more players will join the camp as the UAAP comes to an end.
Players Who Will Join After The UAAP
As the UAAP comes to an end, the fans are excited that some talented players will join the pool. Two names that stand out are Bella Belen and Alyssa Solomon from National University.
Similarly, Angel Canino and Shevana Laput from De La Salle University will also be part of the group. The captain is hopeful that her star players can bring the A game to the competition.
The team will first be part of the AVC Cup tournament that will start on the 7th of June. At the moment, 12-13 players are practicing, but the addition of the university superstars will only make the team stronger.
AVC Women’s Volleyball Cup 2025
As the team gears up for the ultimate competition in the women’s volleyball setup, the fans are excited too. The new season of AVC Women’s volleyball cup will start from 7th June, 2025.
There have been 3 seasons of the competition, and Vietnam has been the most successful team. They have won 2 back to back seasons, with Hong Kong winning the first season.
As the 2025 season is right around the corner, Vietnam will be keen to make it a hat-trick of title wins. Alas Pilipinas will have to play out of their skin to make some form of impact in the competition.
