Fans of cricket might be hearing the name of Irfan Pathan more than enough at the moment. Well, it is due to the fact that he has been displaced from the commentary panel of the Indian setup.
Following his displacement from the Indian commentary panel, Irfan Pathan targets Virat Kohli in his YouTube channel videos. This has made the fans more than fuming about how the former Indian player is being biased.
Irfan Pathan Targets Virat Kohli
It was clear that Irfan Pathan was targeting Virat Kohli more for his agenda than anything. Talking to the fans, Pathan stated that Virat Kohli’s strike rate at the start of the season was never good.
He further stated that the strike rate hovers around 120, and it is never good for the team. Pathan further accused Virat of being more focused on his milestones rather than the team’s success.
In recent years, though, Virat has improved his strike rate and ability to play spin, which has helped the team. Concluding his evaluation, Pathan played safe and hoped that Virat would have an incredible season with the bat and lead his team with chases.

Irfan Pathan Sacked From IPL Panel
In the last few years, Irfan Pathan has been one of the first-choice commentators on Hindi commentary and the IPL. But his name has been missing from the 18th edition of the tournament.
Fans clearly speculated that Pathan had been removed for his biased comments toward the senior Indian players. The broadcasting team wasn’t too happy about Pathan’s comments.
They claimed that Pathan was regulating agendas and creating a rift in the commentary panel, which resulted in Pathan’s sacking.
For a very long time, Pathan has aggressively referred to players like Virat, Rohit, Pant, etc., which has impacted the overall mood in the commentary panel.
According to the news published in MSN, the commentary panel decided to remove Pathan from the panel. However, this didn’t stop the Indian all-rounder, who opened his own YouTube channel and started sharing his ideas.
History of Indian Commentators Being Snubbed Out
Irfan Pathan isn’t the first commentator to be snubbed from the Indian commentator panel for the home season.
In 2020, Sanjay Manjarekar was also pushed out of the commentary panel for his controversial remarks about Ravindra Jadeja. During the 2019 South Africa series, he called Jadeja a bit of a player, which angered fans.
Not to forget, Harsha Bhogle has been the biggest snub. This incident took place in 2016 when Harsha Bhogle was removed from the commentary panel of IPL 9.
Harsha Bhogle took it to X and shared his disappointment. Interestingly, Bhogle’s name wasn’t present in the final draft for the commentators. Following this incident, Harsha did make a comeback to the commentary panel after 1 year.
